Astral Pool S.A. Acquires Hurlcon Holdings PTY Ltd.

Barcelona/Melbourne, 27 ^th October 2006. In a major expansion into the Australian market, Astral Pool, a European multinational company that manufactures and distributes swimming pool equipment, has acquired Hurlcon Holdings Pty Ltd and its subsidiaries as of 27 ^th October, 2006.

The acquisition of Hurlcon reinforces Astral Pool’s position in the residential swimming pool market within Australia. Astral Pool is part of the Aquaria Group of companies which has 43 factories and 136 branches in 30 countries around the world. The Aquaria Group employs over 3100 people with sales of over 540 million EUR (900 million AUD).

Hurlcon is one of Australia’s leading swimming pool equipment manufacturers with their manufacturing plant located in Noble Park, Melbourne, and distribution and sales offices in VIC, NSW, QLD, SA and WA. The manufacturing facility incorporates injection moulding, rotational moulding and sheet metal machines which support 15 separate assembly lines to produce different products, gas boilers to be mentioned as a specialty product. Hurlcon manufactures a broad range of high quality residential pool and spa equipment including pumps, filters, chlorinators, gas and electric heaters and chemical monitoring and dosing equipment.

Both Astral Equipment Australia and Hurlcon will operate as separate entities and all current distribution arrangements will continue.

Astral Pool’s aim is to supply the most complete range of products in Australia covering both residential and commercial swimming pools with a strong focus on technical support and customer service.

Astral Pool, as a major partner and official sponsor of the FINA World Championships will manufacture and construct the competition pool at Rod Laver Arena for Melbourne 2007. The swimming championships will be staged in March/April 2007 and will incorporate the world’s deepest suspended swimming pool – designed, built and constructed by Astral Pool, a worldwide standard in swimming pool equipment with more than 35 years of experience.
