Fluidra sponsors the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation’s Mulla’t solidarity campaign

Fluidra, The Spanish multinational group to which AstralPool belongs, is giving its support to the awareness-raising campaign in solidarity with those who suffer from multiple sclerosis: 6,000 in Catalonia and 40,000 in Spain.

The main event of the campaign will be held on 13 July at 12 p.m., when it will be hoped to set a new record for the number of people to simultaneously dive into a swimming pool for charity.

Barcelona, 3 July 2008 – Fluidra, true to its social responsibility policy, is once again sponsoring its awareness-raising event “Take a Plunge for Multiple Sclerosis”, whose aim is to encourage people to make a commitment to the 40,000 individuals in Spain, 6,000 of whom live in Catalonia, who suffer from multiple sclerosis.

The campaign started in 1994 and is designed to involve ordinary citizens in improving the quality of life of multiple sclerosis sufferers and in furthering research into the illness.

The campaign’s main event will be held on 13 July in 600 swimming pools that are taking part in it. Anyone wishing to become involved should go to one of these pools where a group swimming session with multiple sclerosis sufferers will take place. The organisers are hoping to break the record for the number of people to simultaneously dive into a swimming pool for charity. All participants will receive a diploma as proof of their solidarity and they will be able to purchase items that promote the campaign such as T-shirts, towels and bags.
